Ever since the Google restriction on Huawei, the Chinese company is slowly and steadily working to make its presence dominant again in the tech world. Huawei recently launched a series of new gadgets including a new folding smartphone: the Huawei P50 Pocket, a new smartwatch, Watch D, an electric SUV Aito M5 electric SUV, Huawei Eyewear, and Huawei MateBook X Pro.
All of the new products are now focused on Huawei’s own developed HarmonyOS. It seems that in order to compete with Android, Huawei is planning to develop its own ecosystem. This will allow all the Huawei devices to integrate with each other smoothly.
Huawei devices are some of the best devices in the market and the Google ban has been a loss for people as well. Because of great devices, many people are still buying Huawei devices.
“There are currently more than 220 million Huawei devices running HarmonyOS, and the shipment of HarmonyOS Connect devices has increased by over 100 million in 2021.”– Richard Yu, Huawei’s Executive Director, CEO of the Consumer Business Group, and CEO of the Intelligent Automotive Solution BU
Having more devices with the same operating system of different devices helps build an ecosystem that is great for users.
Let’s look at all of the products Huawei launched:
Huawei P50 Pocket Folding Smartphone
Folding smartphones are in trend but we mostly see very big folding phones. The Huawei P50 Pocket brings a new refresh design with a compact form factor. The clam-shell design makes it easy to carry and easy to use.
The P series is known for great photography and performance with the use of AI. With new XD Fusion Pro Ultra Spectrum Image Technology, the images from this smartphone are going to be great.
To increase usability the folding smartphone also has an external screen that can display notifications, calendar, music, and weather details. So you can see those things without opening the internal screen. The internal screen also has different themes.
Aito M5 Electric SUV
Huawei also launched a new electric SUV, the AITO M5. It has a wheelbase of 2880mm and is integrates the features from both a sports car and an SUV.
The internal of the EV looks stunning with a 10.4-inch curved LCD dashboard, 15.6-inch semi-floating central control screen, and a 2 m² panoramic skyscreen.
M5 comes with a new and improved all-in-one electrical system HUAWEI DriveONE. As per Huawei, the car can “go as far as 1242 km in a CLTC cycle when fully charged and fueled up”. The EV can get from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
M5 also comes with the first-ever HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit. This helps in seamlessly connecting your devices such as smartphones, home devices, smartwatches, etc. Then you can easily manage everything remotely from your mobile devices.
Huawei Watch D
Huawei has added a new smartwatch to its products list. The new Huawei Watch D is focused to provide accurate medical data to users.
It comes with a wrist ECG and blood pressure recorder. The device has been registered with China’s National Medical Products Administration.
It weighs about 40.9 grams and comes with a micro air pump and an airbag to provide people with more precise blood pressure. The error discrepancy is just ±3 mmHg.
This smartwatch also packs an ECG sensor that can provide you with accurate ECG reports in real time.
Smart eyewear has been around for a while and the reason why it seems to fail is that it looks very bulky to wear and use in daily lives. The designs are bulky and look awkward on the face. However, Huawei seems to be taking the sensible approach to not add too many things to smart eyewear.
Their glasses look comfortable and have 16 hours of work time on a full charge. The eyewear is a portable assistant and you can do multiple things by double-tapping, swiping, and pinching on the eyewear.
Huawei MateBook X Pro
Finally, we have a laptop from Huawei, the Huawei MateBook X Pro. It has a 14.2-inch Real Color FullView Display with a 92.5% screen-to-body ratio with P3 color gamut and adopts the pro-level 3D Lut color correction solution.
The space grey color and slim design of the look make it stunning and easy to carry around. This is a high-performance device that can handle heavy tasks easily.
The End Note
It feels good to see Huawei working hard to push out a line of products with an aim to make new innovations. With supply chain issues, it can take a while to see these products in the market.
