GIGABYTE Launches New Motherboards: MC62-G41 and MW34-SP0 for AMD WRX80 and Intel W680 Processors

GIGABYTE is a prominent name in computing. They are known for making flagship servers and workstations. Today, they bring great news for enterprises as the company has announced two new enterprise-grade motherboards: the MC62-G4 and the MW34-SP0.

The new MC62-G41 is made especially for the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000WX and 5000WX generation of processors. On the other hand, the new MW34-SP0 is made for Intel processors and has the support for the latest 12th Gen Intel Core processors because of the advanced enterprise features such as EEC memory.

Both of the motherboards will bring advanced levels of productivity, security, and performance to enterprise-level workstations.

About MC62-G41

We already have to latest generation of the advanced AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro workstation processors on the market. But as of now, there are just a handful of boards that could truly unleash the potential of these processors.

That is why the new MC62-G41 from GIGABYTE is one of the best choices for professional-level workstations.

This new motherboard utilizes the AMD WRX80 platform. This unlocks the motherboard’s backward compatibility with the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000 WX Series of processors.

Not only that, the WRX80 chip can easily support up to 64 cores and 128 threads CPUs. On top of that, it also supports 8-channel memory (ECC/non-ECC) DDR4-3200 and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes.

If we talk about the basic specifications of this motherboard then it comes in CEB form factor. The motherboard has seven PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, four SATA ports, two M.2 Gen4 slots, and three NVMe Gen4 or SATA ports. It also has a 1 GbE LAN port and a management LAN. Furthermore, users also get six USB 3.2 gen2 ports on the back.

AMD has made this a budget-friendly option for enterprises, it has not compromised on the build quality. The motherboard supports all the Threadripper Pro 3000WX and next-generation processors (280W TDP).

About MW34-SP0

Next, we have the MW34-SP0 motherboard from GIGABYTE. Back in 2021, when Intel announced the new 12th Gen Intel Core processors, people were excited. Till now, there are only a few motherboards that could fully unlock the performance capabilities of these processors.

But this motherboard is just exceptional in this case. It comes with an Intel W680 chipset. With this chipset in place, the motherboard successfully unlocks the true potential of the CPUs so that they can be used at an enterprise level.

The Intel processors are more focused on the consumer side of things and that is why the motherboard has dual-channel memory and can have up to 128GB of DDR4 memory.

Then the motherboard also brings a lot of other cool features that can utilize Intel processors’ capabilities in enterprise applications and workstations.

If we talk about the technical specification then this motherboard comes in ATX form factor. It comes with two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. Then there are eight SATA ports and four M.2 Gen4 slots for storage. For LAN connectivity, it has one 2.5 GbE LAN port and a management LAN port.

The DDR4 memory with EEC support results in reduced downtime and fewer chances of data corruption and system crash.

Then there is the ASPEED AST2600 BMC which provides enhanced security, performance, and management.

Closing Phrase

If you are an enterprise or want a professional workstation, the new MC62-G4 and the MW34-SP0 are two of the best choices in the market right now. Depending on what type of processor you want to use, you can select the best one for you.
