If you ever try to find out about drones, chances are the first thing you will see is DJI. They are one of the leading brands in civilian drones and aerial imagining.
Just recently, DJI has announced a packaged solution for all drone operators. The package consists of a new drone, the DJI Matrice 30, a remote fleet management system, the DJI FlightHub 2, and a complete autonomous docking and recharging station, the DJI Dock.
This new series of products are aimed at enterprise users like security agencies, energy companies, and infrastructure inspectors.
The very first launch from the announcement is the DJI Matrice 30 which is the company’s new top-of-the-line enterprise drone. It is quite compact in size and comes with a redesigned remote control.
As per DJI, this drone is more powerful and is ideal for professional use, and easy to transport. The best part is that this drone seamlessly connects with the DJI FlightHub 2 fleet management cloud-based software and DJI Dock.
This new series come in two variants: the M30 and the M30T. Both of the drones have the same technical specifications:
- 1/2” 48-megapixel CMOS sensor zoom camera with 5×~16× optical zoom and 200× digital zoom.
- A 12-megapixel wide-angle camera.
- 8K photo and 4K video at 30fps.
- A Laser Rangefinder.
- The only difference is the M30T further adds a 640×512 px radiometric thermal camera.
DJI M30 comes with an IP55 rating which means you can easily operate it in extreme conditions. Compared to commercial drones, this one still sits quite light at just about 3.7Kg Take-off weight. It also comes with a new self-heating TB30 battery which can give it about a 41-minute flight time on a full charge.
For security, this drone comes equipped with the Matrice 300 V3 firmware. It supports offline updates, then there is a Local Data Mode which disconnects the drone from the internet. Furthermore, users also get AES encryption for SD cards making this drone super safe.
The new DJI RC Plus remote controller brings a new 7-inch HD screen with IP54 certification. Users get six buttons below the control sticks making the flight easier.
The battery on this one can give you 6 hours of screen-on time and it has both an internal and an external swappable battery. Then there is a MicroSD slot, a USD slot, HDMI slot, USB Type-C port, and 4G support.
DJI FlightHub 2 is just the second generation of the company’s Enterprise fleet management software. The key highlight of this software is that it is now completely cloud-based.
As a result, users can manage their flight missions and view their operations via any device with a browser on it. This allows the entire team to be a part of the mission.
There is the One-Tap Panorama Sync that generates a 360° overview and uploads to the cloud just by a tap.
Then there is Cloud Mapping which allows users to highlight the area they like. On top of all of these great features, the new software also has Live Annotations and it can pinpoint the exact coordinates of a missing person.
You can think of the DJI Dock as the final piece to this whole enterprise package. It is an autonomous takeoff, landing, and charging station for the DHI M30 Series(Dock Version). This dock allows them to take automatic and programmed flights.
Once the dock is all set, a fully charged M30 can make a flight from the DJI Dock and perform a programmed mission within a 7KM radius. This is all made possible by DJI FlightHub 2. This dock weighs in at about 90Kgs which is still quite less and can be easily deployed in any region.
Thanks to the features of this dock, a drone recharges on its own and can only take off 25 minutes after its initial landing time.
The dock is IP55 rated and its internals are IP67 rated so you can place it anywhere. Overall, it is a great solution.
Users will be able to buy the DJI M30 Package starting at USD 9,999 and the M30T Package starting at USD 13,999.
The core package will include The Matrice 30 Series (M30 or M30T), a DJI RC Plus, two TB30 Intelligent Flight Batteries, one BS30 Intelligent Battery Station, and the aircraft storage case.
These drones are now will be available on the DJI Online Store and DJI Enterprise dealers as well.
All the users can now test the DJI FlightHub 2 for free till October 31, 2022. The DJI Dock is now in a testing phase and should be available by Q4 2022.
Along with all of this, DJI also announced the new Zenmuse H20N which is a hybrid night vision sensor for the DJI M300 RTK. It is also available online at the DJI Online Store and DJI Enterprise dealers as well.
