Sonos launches budget-friendly Sonos Ray & introduces 3 new colors for Sonos Roam

Sonos has added a new tiny soundbar to its portfolio & three new color options for its ultraportable Sonos Roam. Sonos Ray, a portable soundbar for smaller areas, and three trendy hues for its Bluetooth smart speaker, Sonos Roam, have been unveiled by the company.

Right from Sonos Ray, you can avail of them at $279 on the 7th of June. Because of its absence of smart features, this is Sonos’ most small and cheap soundbar. Because Ray lacks mics, it does not assist Google Voice Assistance/Alexa. It’s at the heart of Sonos’ hardware ecosystem — amazing audio.

The Sonos Roam is available in Olive, Wave (mild blue) & Sunset (orange) for the same $179 pricing. Similar to the Sonos Move, the Roam has inbuilt power storage that can be operated anytime soon. Thus, the aesthetics are supposed to reflect that.

Sonos Ray – Compact & Affordable

The Sonos Ray is a budget-friendly soundbar that connects to TVs via optical cable and supports Dolby Digital audio. The Sonos Ray seeks to set a new standard for home entertainment at an affordable price. It got 2 tweeters & 2 mid-woofers for higher frequencies.

Sonos appeals that the Ray will deliver exceptional audio quality despite its storage. The new soundbar is compatible with various streaming services, allowing you to watch movies, listen to music & more. Your older remote controller, the Sonos application, AirPlay 2 & other devices can be used to monitor the Sonos Ray.

It may also be integrated into a bigger surround-sound system by employing pairs of Sonos speakers. Only an Ethernet and an Optical Audio port are available on the back of the Sonos Ray. In contrast, an Xbox One X may be out of your price range compared to previous gaming systems.

The Ray can be used with ongoing systems to offer numerous or digital audio surround. You can connect a couple of ones to a Sonos speaker for multi-room listening or add them to your home theatre system for surround sound.

Like all Sonos speakers, Ray was tuned by the Sonos Soundboard, a group of top experts from the music and cinema industries. Trueplay allows you to fine-tune the sound even further for the best listening experience in any room.

Sonos Roam

Sonos has updated the color palette of the Sonos Roam and unveiled a new affordable soundbar dubbed Sonos Ray and a specialized voice control assistant. The superb portable Bluetooth speaker has been released in three new colorways, with no internal changes and the same acoustic architecture as the original Roam speaker from 2021.

On the other hand, the Sonos Roam is a fantastic portable speaker with great sonic capabilities for its size. When connected to Wi-Fi, the Roam functions as a standard Sonos speaker, and when out and about, it functions as a traditional Bluetooth speaker.

Sonos also stated that its privacy-focused voice assistant would be released in June, alongside the new audio hardware. The voice assistant will be enabled via software updates to all of the company’s current speakers. During the initial launch, it can support Apple Music, Pandora, Deezer, Amazon Music & Sonos Radio.
