Samsung unveils M8 4K Smart Monitor resembling the iMac look & its colors

The Samsung M8 Smart Monitor is currently available for pre-order after it was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2022, and its color options are similar to those of the 24-inch iMac. Samsung has extended its business across verticals, including TVs and monitors, spanning a wide range of price points.

The Samsung Smart Monitor series debuted in 2020 as a monitor that functions as a television. As a result, owners can use it for both work and play. The 32-inch M7 Smart Monitor has an Ultra HD resolution & the M5 Smart Monitor has an FHD resolution, and a choice of 27 or 32 inches are the first two models produced that year.

Samsung’s M8 Smart Monitor is a borderless 32-inch UHD/4K flat panel with a compact frame. Even the chin, which is broader than the rest of the body, is thinner than the iMac 2021. Samsung only showed off a white model when it was launched in January 2022.

Since it’s available for pre-order, customers may get it in Green, Pink, or Blue, with matching bezels and bases. Samsung has set the price of the 4K display at $729, whereas the white version costs $699. The detachable SlimFit camera for video calls is included with all color options.

More than just a Monitor

The monitor has a 32-inch UHD display with 3840 x 2160 pixels in resolution & 60Hz refresh rate. It has a Height Adjustable Stand (HAS) & tilt capability to assist users in finding the ideal position. The Samsung M8 Advanced Monitor is powered by Tizen, the same OS that comes with a standard of Samsung televisions. It’s a sole device that doesn’t require a PC/Gaming console.

Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV+ & Samsung TV+ are among the apps pre-loaded on the HDR10+ monitor. The box is added with an IR remote for controlling the monitor in the TV option.

Samsung has also included a sensor that adapts the brightness based on ambient light and a feature called Adaptive Sound+, which configures the built-in speakers as per user’s environment.

Users can utilize the M8 Smart Monitor for work even if they don’t have access to a computer. It includes Google Duo, a web browser, Microsoft 365 apps for creating and editing documents, and remote access support.

SmartThings Hub offers consumers in merging of their wireless IoT controls. It also has an app that makes it simple to keep track of IoT devices across the house.

When Bixby is engaged, the Smart Monitor M8 also has a high-sensitivity Far-Field Voice microphone with an Always-On Voice capability, which displays conversation information on-screen even if the monitor screen is switched off.

Anyone with a Galaxy handset that supports Samsung Dex can connect it to the monitor. Samsung has also implemented AirPlay 2 support. A magnetic Slim-Fit Cam that can connect to the monitor and be removed at any moment is also included. For grabbing the attention of an individual speaker, the camera has Face Tracking and Auto Zoom features. The monitor supports Google Duo and other video chat apps.

A USB-C connector with triple functionality (display, up to 65W charging, and data transmission) eliminates the need for additional wires. A Micro HDMI port, 2nd USB-C port, Bluetooth 4.2 & Wi-Fi 5 are included.

Samsung has started collecting pre-orders for the M8 Smart Monitor but hasn’t confirmed when it will ship. The M8 monitor comes in four colors: Warm White, Sunset Pink, Daylight Blue, and Spring Green.
