Eplus3D releases the EP-M450H 3D Printer

Eplus3D, based in Hangzhou, China, has unveiled the EP-M450H, a Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machine featuring a build chamber. It is intended to be used in military & combat operations.

The tallest prototype in the Eplus3D range, the large-format 3D printer, has a build capacity of 455 x 455 x 1100mm. The EP-M450H is highly accustomed to 3D printing parts over a meter in height, with over 200 liters of build volume to operate.

The new Eplus3D machine is designed for enormous, high-performance components in the aerospace, military, and automotive industries.

Being launched in 2014, Eplus3D produces industrial-grade 3D printing technologies that use innovations like PBF & SLA. The company’s core expert team has a wealth of experience of over 25 years in manufacturing, covering industries such as airspace, automobiles, mechanical tools, the medical field, and consumer essentials.

The firm presently operates two sites in Beijing and Hangzhou and spends more than 20% of its sales on scientific research. The EP-A350 resin 3D printer, EP-M650 metal 3D printer, and EP-P420 polymer 3D printer are part of the Eplus3D’s offerings.

The EP-M450H 3D printer – Not largest but the tallest

The EP-M450H can work with a wide range of metal powders, including titanium, aluminum, nickel, copper alloys, stainless steel, maraging steel, and cobalt chrome.

The company’s new EP-M450H 3D printer’s dimensions and efficiency identify it. Customers can choose between a single 500W fiber laser and a dual laser setup for a 70 percent increase in printing efficiency.

The overlapping variation between the two is less than 0.1 mm, indicating that the overall mechanical qualities of the parts are comparable to those produced by a single laser machine. The EP-M450H has a peak build rate of 55cm3/h and a scan speed of up to 8m/s.

The machine even includes a bi-directional powder recoating system that reduces the time between layers by seconds. It can cut overlap time and provide repeatable positional accuracy along the Z-axis of the building direction of 5 m.

With its latest 3D printer, Eplus3D has also prioritized part quality. The company claims that part densities of over 99.9% and mechanical property variations of less than 5% between constructions have been achieved.

The EP-M450H has an improved gas flow architecture that helps produce uniform and consistent 3D printing while ensuring effective smoke and splash removal. Lowered gas usage during construction (6 liters/min) helps reduce operating costs, whereas the blow-back enabled filtration program is built to last over 1,000 hours.

Users can apply various parameters to different areas of a model using the printer’s software. Parts, for example, can be divided into upper and lower surfaces, core sections, and small areas, each having its own set of settings.

Eplus3D’s proprietary EP-Hatch processing software is also included with the machine, allowing customers to take advantage of optimal scanning tactics. The system’s process software can be further connected with Siemens NX software to boost production efficiency.
