For those who don’t know, Kilpsch is a premium audio brand hailing from the USA. The brand makes all kinds of premium audio devices, including headphones and speakers. They make both personal and professional use audio products, including cinema, whole-house, wireless, home theater, etc.
Kilpsch’s top sellers are Reference Premiere speakers, and to accompany them, the brand has announced four new Klipsch Reference Premiere Series Subwoofers. These are premium quality subwoofers with a premium design and exceptional sound performance. Let’s look at the lineup and see all the cool features they bring to the table.
The New Klipsch Reference Premiere Series Subwoofers
As part of the announcement, we now have four new Klipsch Reference Premiere Series Subwoofers. The lineup is as follows:
- RP-1600SW
- RP-1400SW
- RP-1200SW
- RP-1000SW
Design and Build
The speakers’ design is pretty much the same as they all have front-firing spun copper Cerametallic woofers. They have a significantly low-frequency response, and the distortion is also minimal.
All of the models have the same design with a deep black coating and a copper woofer. They look very minimal and premium. With that premium look, these subwoofers can easily go with any minimal setup.
They not only have a premium look but come with solid build quality too. You get a scratch-resistant ebony vinyl finish. It mimics real wood and looks quite premium. To add a more luxurious feel, you also get a woven cloth grille covering the better part of the woofers.
- The new RP-1600SW is a 16-inch high excursion subwoofer.
- The new RP-1400SW is a 14-inch high excursion subwoofer.
- The new RP-1400SW is a 12-inch high excursion subwoofer.
- The new RP-1400SW is a 10-inch high excursion subwoofer.
Brilliant Performance
All of the new Klipsch Reference Premiere Series subwoofers come with built-in, high-efficiency amplifiers. The amplifiers have an analog preamp design. This results in a much more authentic sound, which is rich and clear.
On the back side, you get the Class D output stage. This results in great efficiency as you get better output, detail, and low-frequency power. The best thing is that you can use the Klipsch WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit (sold separately) to get wireless connectivity with these subwoofers. You can also use the RCA and wireless inputs at the same time. This allows you to use a single subwoofer with multiple systems.
Pricing and Availablity
You can get the Klipsch Reference Premiere Series Subwoofers as per the following pricing:
Model | Price(in USD) |
RP-1600SW | 1799 |
RP-1400SW | 1399 |
RP-1200SW | 999 |
RP-1000SW | 749 |
The pricing obviously seems a little too much to the standard customer, but you have to consider that this is a premium audio brand. The subwoofers also come with a 5-year warranty, which you only get with premium brands.
Overall, these subwoofer speakers have some excellent specs, and the audio performance will be magnificent. If you already have a Klipsch Reference Premiere Series speaker, you can get these subwoofers to enhance the audio experience at home or elsewhere.
