GoPro has introduced a new camera update for its flagship camera model, Hero 10 Black, a downloadable firmware update, presenting new and improved features.
Bonus updates
The new update packs additional recording options and updated features and brings amazing and innovative – Hero10 Black users. The big firmware update delivers three advanced attributes, one of which is a 24fps mode.
The update comes as an end-of-year treat for the GoPro Hero 10 Black owners. The downloadable firmware update was previously unveiled in the beta form in November and now has been offered a full rollout as a big holiday present for the users.
The biggest upgrade for users awaiting a cinematic look is the 24fps mode, presently available in 4k, 5k, and 5.3k with 1080 resolutions. The 24fbs has been a standard frame rate for movies for a long time, and the fewer frame rate will enhance the camera’s performance under low light.
Another welcome bonus that has been presented with the new firmware update is the legendary in-camera SuperView mode, which supports a wider view, stretching the sensor’s 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9, making the best of the sensor, thus improving quality. The mode is exceptionally handy when users shoot POV videos with a wide-angle view to get more of the scene in shots.
SuperView is fantastic for capturing the most visual competition in POV shots, but it also produces a few awesome, innovative pictures when you click close-camera shots.
SuperView has become a great part of GoPro cameras for its exciting features. But for the first time, it’s been made accessible on its highest resolution of 5.3K. And now, it also gets 60fps apart from 30fps! It requires a huge amount of horsepower to pull that, but HERO10 Black and its new GP2 processor have helped them a lot.
The new upgrade in Hero10 Black also presents the GoPro’s Max Lens Mod optional accessory if that isn’t enough. This accessory offers the widest possible GoPro field of view, allowing the camera to establish even more powerful Max HyperSmooth stabilization.
It is achieved by cutting down broader visibility, and now it’s only possible to capture in 2.7K resolution with the Max Lens Mod. However, the significant advantages are improved stabilization and auto horizon-leveling, which are excellent for filming first-person extreme sports.
Max Lens Mod expands on the SuperView focus by delivering the widest, most engaging 155 field-of-view ever witnessed on a HERO camera with Max SuperView, enabling Max HyperSmooth stabilization with an astounding 360 horizon lock.
This firmware update comes on the heels of the GoPro’s new Enduro battery release. This battery, confirmed in early December, is coherent with the Hero10 Black and guarantees to improve recording times and cold-weather performance.
You know how low draining temperatures are on battery life if you enjoy winter sports. Those issues are no longer a factor with the Enduro battery and the Hero10 Black.
Even on the coldest days, it is possible to record 56 minutes of 5.3K/60p video and 50 minutes of 4K/120p video. Moreover, you can also expect to record 76 minutes of 4K/60p video as well as 115 minutes of 1080p video. The Hero 10 Black owners can download the update using the GoPro’s Quik app.
