The first Wednesday of June is marked as Global Running Day and to celebrate this day, Garmin has announced the new Forerunner 255 series and Forerunner 955 Solar smartwatch.

Garmin Forerunner 255 Series
The key difference between the new Forerunner 255 and 255S is the dial size. While the case size of Forerunner 255S is 41mm, the Forerunner 255 has a case size of 46mm.
Then there is the Music which means that the watches with Music at the end can store up to 500 songs.
Now the new thing about these GPS running watches is that they now have support for full triathlons and then there are new training metrics as well. On top of that, there are some other great features as well when you pair them with your smartphone.
Basic Specs and Features
First of all, let’s talk about the battery life, well, these smartwatches can give you 14 days of juice if you use them in smartwatch mode, and they can last up to 30 hours in GPS mode.
There is the HRV status that allows you to track the heart rate variability when you sleep. In the morning, the watch will give you the morning report that combines info about your sleep, and HRV status, along with the day’s weather, and the watch also suggests your daily workout.
There is a dedicated Race widget on the watch that has all the things you need to prepare for a race.
The watch also comes with Garmin Pay. For the most accurate GPS information, the smartwatch comes with multi-band GPS.
There is a Grain Coach platform that provides free training plans so that you can achieve your running goals. There is also a PacePro tool that gives highly accurate guidance for athletes that hit the track daily.
With 24/7 health and wellness monitoring and sensors like wrist-based Pulse Ox3 monitors that can effectively monitor your blood oxygen saturation, this is a really good smartwatch series.
The new Forerunner 255 and 255S are available in fun new colors along with two new colors: tidal blue and light pink. And the price for these smartwatches is USD 349,99. Then there are the Forerunner 255 Music and 255S Music that two new color options in black and whitestone. The price for these ones is going to be USD 399.99.
Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar
To celebrate the Global Running Day, Garmin has also announced Forerunner 955 Solar and as the name suggests, this one comes with Garmin’s iconic solar charging. With Solar charging, the new Forerunner 955 Solar can last for 20 days using the smartwatch mode, and then it can last for 49 hours on GPS mode.
This smartwatch comes with an always-on display with full color and the touchscreen really goes well with the 5-button design of the watch. So the watch can work really well in direct sunlight.
This one also comes with the same heart rate variability(HRV) and Race widget just like the Garmin Forerunner 255 series.
Just like the Forerunner 255 series, this one also has multi-band GPS for highly accurate GPS tracking. Then there are new training modes and features with sleep tracking, HRV status, and some other metrics.
The interesting thing is that it has real-time stamina insights that can track exertion levels when you run.
The new Forerunner 955 Solar is now available and it is priced at USD 599.99 and then there is also a non-solar version that is available for USD 499.99.
